Eczema

“Look well to the spine for the cause of disease.”
Hippocrates. (ca. 460 BC – ca. 370 BC)
The nervous system is the control center of the body. Combined with chemical messengers it orchestrates all body function. Interference in the nervous system will adversely effect the body in whole, or in part. Nerves from the mid-thoracic spine (mid-back) supply the upper intestinal tract. If misalignment exists in this area it can directly effect normal function in the gut. Part of maintaining normal GI function is to maintain the coordination of the nervous system through proper spinal alignment which allows nerve impulses to travel freely to the intestines.
The Role of the Liver
The liver is the main organ of filtration and purification in the body. As the body becomes more toxic the stress on the liver increases, sometimes requiring detoxification of the liver in treatment of skin disease. Often, however, detoxifying the gut will render a separate liver detoxification regimen unnecessary. Sometimes doing a liver detoxification concurrently will hasten the clearing of the skin. Each case must be individually assessed.
